Hi guys X)
A while ago (March) I ordered myself the topshop jeans from eBay. They hadn't arrived in the post ever so eventually the person who sent them refunded me. They're in customs somewhere and I'll doubt I'll get them at all now. So just a question, does anyone know if there is ANYWHERE I can get a pair of size 8 zip biker jeans in brown??? Thanks :)

I’ve just returned home after an amazing day down in Cardiff doing an all-day photoshoot with two of my favourite Doctor cosplay look-a-likes, with a superb Amy Pond to moderate.

Here’s a little teaser photo for you – and yes, that is US-based Tenth Doctor Kevin Coppa with UK-based Eleventh Doctor Matt Elliott united for a one off photo op!

More to follow in my Eleventh Doctor Blog.

I have a customer on Etsy who wants me to make her River's wide belt (I think it was originally from All Saints?) and I was hoping somebody here could tell me exactly how wide the original belt is, and if possible also the approximate thickness of leather used?  I aim to make my stuff as exact as possible.  Also as long as I'm here, here's a link to my shop.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/TimelordLeatherworks

I don't have much posted right now, but I can do anything custom or SA replica.  Anyway, I'm hoping one of you excellent Rivers can help me out with the belt question, thanks in advance.

TimeGate is the Doctor Who (and more!) convention that takes place in Atlanta, Ga, USA, from May 25 to May 27, 2012. Our Doctor Who Guest of Honor is Caitlin Blackwood, who plays Amelia Pond. Much more info can be found at the website: http://timegatecon.org/ including the Schedule of Events, One-Day-Only Ticket Pricing, and Hotel Info.

Under the cut is a listing of panels for the new Costuming Track. Many of these are oriented towards the Doctor Who 'verse.

As the Director of the Costuming Track, I look forward to seeing wonderful cosplays and great costumes at TimeGate. :)

My partner and I are D*C veterans, but this will be our first time at TimeGate.  When do people typically cosplay at TimeGate?  During the day and at night?  Just in the evening?  We are trying to figure out how many costumes to bring along.  Most of the stuff--Andy Pandy Sarah Jane, Amelia Pond, Cocktail Dalek--is from D*Cs past but I am bringing my new "Let's Kill Hitler" River.  Any advice about cosplay at this particular con would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Oh my god you guys! I emailed a million different people month and months ago trying to get info on unIDed items. Today Louise Page herself emails me back and IDs a few things for me!

"Dear Jessica
An e mail has been passed to me by the ___Taking this out so she does not get a flood of emails______ who received your e mail regarding Rose's Costumes on Doctor Who. (and yes you are right - they are not the correct department!!!)
I was the Costume Designer on series 2/3/4 of Doctor Who and will try and answer some of your questions but I do not have the files to hand . I assume you are doing this for Cosplay? You may well find that if you contact the cosplay community they may have their own guesses worked out!!! Unless of course you are doing this on behalf of them.
Series 2 & 4 boots:  in Age of Steel/Fear her/ The End of Time: if they are long black boots with elastic down the sides they are from Hobbs. The Series 2 ones are slightly different from series 4 which are not black but very dark conker brown but are all Hobbs. The Looser boots by the way worn in series 2 were Frys
Shoes in Series 1 eps were different and not documented and died a long time ago.
Jeans/Trousers: All series 1 jeans and trousers were only worn in series 1 and I can't  help you with  exact brands butI know there were a selection of baggy worker jeans from Oasis mainly purchased in 2004.
Jeans/Trousers: The End of Time: Black stretch Bootcut Trousers from Top Shop own brand.
Rose's blue jeans were J brand in series 4
and Rock & Republic & 7 for all Mankind  in series 2.
Top from Doomsday Beach Scene: The leather jacket was Firetrap but I'm afraid I cannot remember the brand of t shirt but it was definately NOT a vest!
I can't help you with the undershirt from Boomtown
The bedding isn't my department and I doubt anyone from the art dept would remember as most of the people that worked on Rose have now left and the bedding long gone!
The ribbon sweatshirt from Christmas Invasion was from Urban outfitters as was the button vest. The sweatshirt label was "Tree People" and the button vests had 2 differentlabels. 1 was listed at Bonhams in the sale as "Miss Milne" and the other as "M" more than that I can't tell you.
The pj bottoms - if you mean the shorts that were worn with a stripey vest form series 1 there were M & S - Relax at Home.
I hope this helps in your search. Most of this stuff was bought 6 years ago and to be honest even then I bought most of what was left in the shop. So unless you come across something on ebay...... good luck.
All the best"

Hi all! No promises and no details but...there may be a dedicated Doctor Who Con happening in New Jersey in the future. There has been a strong showing of Whovians at the Steampunk Worlds Faire every year since it's inception. This year we gathered and made an empassioned plea to the creator of SPWF and his staff for a Who Con.

We think it may have worked...stay tuned and send all your hopes. If it happens Jelly Babies and Jammy Dodgers for everyone!

Various Doctor Who characters I came across during the MotorCity Comic Con (May 18-20) in Novi, Michigan under the cut.

Please excuse any blurry shots, I apparently can't hold the camera steady.

Yesterday I took my newly-finished series 7 episode 5 Amy costume out for a spin to a cosplay photoshoot at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens (which we ended up barely spending time at due to circumstances) and seeing The Avengers with an Avengers group. Photos below the cut! (Please excuse the heinous state of my roots; I've been waiting until just before TimeGate to get them done.)

I haven't posted in a while because I have been working the ultimate costume accessory... the TARDIS console. I have posted some stuff about this project previously but I finally have something cool to post.

I am far from finished, but I do have the frame complete. It is composed of two base sections and one top section. It is designed in sections so I can take it apart for transport (until I get the dematerialization circuit working). My goal is to have it finished for the 50th anniversary (November next year), but I'd really like to have it finished by Halloween next year.

Anyway here is a picture of what I have so far, take a look and let me know what you think!!!!

Whilst having a clear out we found some really garish and ugly materiel so I thought it might make a good non-specific waistcoat for my 6th coat so I knocked one up today. I need to get some bright buttons as all I had were some British Battledress ones but I like the look of it and its really comfortable to wear. I dug out my 6 coat to see what it looked like with that. I also plan to get some more felt and redo the lapels now I've figured them out, they need to be much wider and I need to let the coat down a bit as I think I've shortened it a tad too much.

[info]stars_fell requested a more detailed breakdown of my Old!Amy armour so here it is. Sorry this took so long; had to dig my armour out of storage. It is, by no means, a definite how-to guide, but if you too want to make Amy's armour out of cardboard and duct tape, then here are some tricks and hints.

I didn't take any pictures of the armour during its various construction stages, but I've taken some pictures of the armour close up so you can see some of the details. So a lot of text and pictures behind the cut.

Duct tape. Is there anything it can't do? )
